September 17, 2019 1:07 pm Leave your thoughtsDiwali is a festival of lights, laughter and sharing. But it often also becomes the season of over indulgence and weight gain. So, here are some tips that we think will help you avoid weight gain.
Don’t go out Hungry
Diwali means visiting friends and family. Just make sure you don’t leave home hungry. As if that will be the case you’ll end up eating too many snacks and sweets at each house that you visit to give away gifts. So, eat small healthy meals before you leave home.
Cut Calories at Work
Before Diwali start cutting calories at work by avoid or reducing the amount of tea and snacks. You can try and replace tea with coconut water and snacks with healthier options like carrots and fruits.
Don’t Skip too many Workouts
Before Diwali avoid missing workouts. On Diwali and the day after most gyms are closed, therefore, you’ll miss workout on these days for sure. But other days don’t miss workouts.
Avoid Alcoholic Drinks
While drinking with friends don’t over indulge. Drink in limits. If possible avoid all together.
Take Small Portions
While eating at home or even outside, take small portions as during festive season there are usually many dishes which you are expected to taste and try.
Choose Nuts over Sweets
While visiting people, when offered sweets, nuts and snacks, pick nuts in limited quantity, as they are healthier. This way you won’t offend anyone and will still save yourself from weight gain.
Prepare a Healthy Dinner
If eating at home, what you have for dinner is in your hands. So, cook something light and healthy.
We wish all of you a happy and healthy Diwali!
